Gunpowder Plot

The time is 1605 and England is ruled by the King. The Royal family and members of the Parliament frequently meet together to discuss issues. The King has recently tightened the restrictions on Catholics. As a plan to end the unfair restrictions on the Catholics, Guy Fawkes, a would-be assasin, waited in the basement of the House of Lords to ignite a barrel of gunpowder. The King was saved by a letter that fell into his hands, the letter warned him to stay away from the House of Lords for fear of his life. The King was spared, and the plot to kill became known as the gunpowder plot.
