Shakespeare's Life

     William Shakespeare was born to John and Mary in April 1564. His exact date of birth reamins unknown, but it is widely assumed that he was borh on April 23rd, three days before his baptism. William went to grammar school in Stratford, and studied Latin retorich and literature.
     Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway in 1582 when he was 18 years old. William and Anne had a daughter Susanna in 1583 and twins Hamnet and Judith in 1585.
     Around 1586 Shakespeare left his family in Stratford to move to London. In London he became an actor and a playwrite.  Williams plays were very popular with Queen Elizabeth I, and she became benefactor to Shakespeare's Company, Lord Chamberlain's Men. After Queen Elizabeth died in 1603, King James became the company's patron. Soon Shakespeare's company became known as the King;s Men.
     In 1610, Shakespeare retired from acting and returned to Stratford to spend the rest of his life with his family. Shakespeare wrote his last two plays in Stratford;The Tempest and Henry VIII. Shakespeare died in 1616 when he was 52 years old.
 
     Today William Shakespeare is one of the most renound playwrites, having written over 30 comedies, tragedies, hisotories and sonnets, some of which included:

The Taming of the Shrew

Hamlet
Antony and Cleoparta
Love's Labour's Lost
